Roger Ehrenberg

Roger Ehrenberg is the founder of Eberg Capital, IA Capital, and IA Sports Ventures. Roger previously founded IA Ventures, a $475m seed stage venture firm based in NYC that has seeded some of the iconic software firms of this generation, including Datadog, Digital Ocean, The Trade Desk, and Wise. Roger is a 3-time Midas Award winner for his work as a venture capitalist, and actively mentors dozens of emerging managers seeking to build scalable firms with strong track records and even stronger cultures. Before focusing on seed-stage investing and venture capital in 2005, Roger spent 17 years on Wall Street at Citibank and Deutsche Bank, principally in derivatives and quantitative trading.

Roger stepped back from IA Ventures in Fall 2021 to focus his efforts on Eberg Capital and IA Sports Ventures. He pursues these activities with the support of his sons, Andrew and Ethan, who add their domain knowledge and expertise in the areas of web3 infrastructure and applications, sports betting, and sports analytics. They are each pursuing their own careers in web3 technologies and gaming. Eberg Capital and IA Sports currently manage 30 company investments including Betr, Hang, Parcl, Rally, Simplebet, and WagerWire, as well as a set of sports franchise investments including the Miami Marlins.

Roger currently sits on the Leadership Advisory Board of the University of Michigan College of Engineering and the Ross School Advisory Board, as well as the Data Science Institute at Columbia University. Roger is a 1987 graduate of Ross, a 1993 graduate of Columbia Business School, and met his wife Carin (LSA 1988) at Rick’s during his senior year. Andrew graduated with his Michigan BSI in 2019 and Ethan with his Ross BBA in 2022. It truly is a family affair.
